The iPad is a Tablet PC designed and developed by Apple. It is particularly oriented media such as books, newspapers, magazines, movies, music, games, but also to the Internet and access to his emails. At about 700 grams, its size and weight are located between those of smart phones and those of laptops. Apple has sold 3 million iPad within 80 days following its release.
The iPad is running the same OS as the iPhone and iPod touch, although it is overdue for release on his two brothers, puisqu'iOS 4 iPad will emerge than in autumn 2010, it has at present a specific version of iPhone OS 3.2. The iPad may as well run specific applications to its platform-developed and that applications for iPhone and iPod touch. No software modifications, these applications are, like the two devices, downloadable from the App Store, an item "iPad" will be proposed.
Like the iPhone and iPod Touch, the iPad is controlled via a multi-screen sensitive to a maximum of eleven fingers, unlike other ancient tablets that used a stylus pressure triggered. The iPad is using a Wi-Fi or 3G to surf the Internet, download or send data, and install applications. The USB 2.0 cable, supplied and necessary for data synchronization with iTunes on a PC - the software by which the device is managed - is the same as the iPod and iPhone range.
The reaction of the media to respect the iPad was generally neutral or positive, with a more positive response after its release.
The first tablet from Apple was a personal assistant, Newton MessagePad 100, released in 1993 and led to the creation of the heart ARM6 processor with the British company Acorn. Apple has also developed a prototype tablet based on the PowerBook Duo, the Penlite, but abandoned the project to avoid harm to sales MessagePad. Apple has also sold several assistants based on the Newton, but stopped their production with the MessagePad 2100, 1998.
Apple went back on the market of mobile computing in 2007 with the iPhone. Smaller than the iPad, but with a camera and a mobile phone, it pioneered multi-touch interface sensitive fingers of the operating system from Apple - iOS. In late 2009, the output of the Apple iPad was part of the dragging rumors for several years. Generally referred to as "Apple Tablet" iTablet islative and were among the names of speculators. The iPad was announced January 27, 2010 by Steve Jobs during a press conference at Apple's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
The iPad is available in six models that differ according to their connectivity and memory capacity.
Each of these ranges includes three flash memory capacities (16GB, 32GB and 64GB).

In France, Orange is offering the card € 0.02, it is nevertheless proposed to SFR 9.95 € but includes three days of connection. Note that unlike that of Orange, SFR map does not require a ride in an Apple Store or an agency in Orange.
In Canada, Rogers presents his card at $ 0.20 with monthly charges of $ 15 or $ 35 HT HT valid for 30 days, respectively, including 250 MB and 5 GB of data as well as Wi-Fi in all respects Rogers Canada. It is the same for Bell, offering the same prices for the same data sets and the same limits of validity. Scratches for iPad Bell offer unlimited Wi-Fi free in all public access points from Bell, including more than 750 Starbucks.
The iPad is running the operating system iOS, developed by Apple for its mobile devices. Also, applications of the iPad closely resemble the iPhone, they have just been adapted to the large screen and its applications Compass, Weather, Stock, calculator and voice recorder have been suppressed because their format was not adaptable to the screen of the iPad (for example, it would be unpleasant to use a calculator on a large screen). The iPad will not integrate the Camera application because it does not have a photo cell. Among the software installed by default, include Safari, Mail, Photos, Video, YouTube, iPod, iTunes, AppStore, Maps, Notes, Calendar and Contacts. The application iBooks, developed by Apple, allowing the purchase and reading digital books, available for download from the AppStore since 3 April.
Apple also updated its software Pages, Keynote and Numbers (formerly grouped under the iWork for Mac), which are traded separately on the App Store at a price of 7.99 € each.
The Wi-Fi version of the iPad + 3G includes a GPS activated by the presence of micro-contract SIM and Data.
Applications developed by third parties
All applications available on the App Store, which represents about 200,000 (to launch in France), working with the iPad, and applications specific to the platform can be developed through the SDK from Apple.
The desire of Steve Jobs, Adobe Flash technology is not incorporated into the iPad, as is the case now on the iPhone and iPod touch.

* The iPad Keyboard Dock, a base station acting as host and horizontal physical keyboard for the device. It has a 30-pin connector to recharge and synchronize with a computer iPad, and an audio output jack. There is also a self-docking, the iPad Dock.
