Like the iPhone and iPod Touch, the iPad is controlled via a multi-screen sensitive to a maximum of eleven fingers, unlike other ancient tablets that used a stylus pressure triggered. The iPad is using a Wi-Fi or 3G to surf the Internet, download or send data, and install applications. The USB 2.0 cable, supplied and necessary for data synchronization with iTunes on a PC - the software by which the device is managed - is the same as the iPod and iPhone range.

The reaction of the media to respect the iPad was generally neutral or positive, with a more positive response after its release.
