The company's slogan means Better ingredients, better pizza .. There are more than 3,000 stores under this brand in the world mainly the U.S., UK and Canada.

History
The founder of Papa John's, John Schnatter, began his career in the coffee Rocky's Sub Pub in Jeffersonville (Indiana) when he was still studying. Graduated high school in 1980, he continued to work in the field while studying at the university as a pizza deliveryman. In 1984, he launched his own business of pizza and opened his first Papa John's restaurant in 1985. While other brands targeted the low price, the strategy of its food chain was based on the quality of products. With many options to make the choice of pizza.

Strategy
The company moved towards a strategy of home deliveries although some restaurants have tables for consumption on the premises. Orders can be made via the Internet. In 1997 the company was summoned to court by Pizza Hut because of an advertisement that compared the quality of its products with quality that rivals Pizza Hut is a part. The court went in the direction of the indictment of Pizza Hut. Papa John's managed to change the ruling after appeal in 1999.

Another case came up the two companies against each other. Indeed, one of the co-founders of Pizza Hut named Frank Carney went under the franchise of Papa John's in 1994. In 2001, he had 133 points of sale. After the court decision, it was an ad where he was seen at a bar in a Pizza Hut where he spoke to employees saying, "Sorry guys, I found a better pizza."

From the point of view function, the method is applied by other similar franchises. Each store is led by a manager who manages employee teams. Above is an area manager, etc. ...

Franchise stores can be owned by independents. They must refund a portion of profits from sales to the parent company which in turn invests in advertising for example.

On March 30, 2006, the Six Flags announced it would use more than Papa John's Pizza in its theme parks.
